So you wanna volunteer? We're happy to have you!

Toronto JS is a non-profit organization, and from its start in 2010, completely volunteer-run.

The more volunteers we have available, the more events and activities we can run.

Volunteering is organized by event organizers and promotion leaders. All are happy to coach you into any of the roles and tasks. Any sponsorship we previously garnered were for the purposes of offering food, drink or venue rental at irl community gatherings.

Volunteer Engagements:

• Async : 1 hour a week
  • Example of tasks: online moderation, event promotion, member engagement
• Event-based: 2-4 hours per event
  • Example of tasks: Soliciting presenters for upcoming programming, Event Coordination, Speaker hosting, Panel facilitation, Ensuring a welcoming environment
  • Volunteers should be present for the full event.
  • Organizers, (who are also volunteers) may have to be present for soundcheck and presenter-support before an hour before the event and ensure the venue is clean and that attendees are respectful.

On completion of the engagement, we're more than happy to give references for any volunteering you've done with and for us!
